Sioux Falls State Theatre

 

The State Theatre was built in 1926 to showcase silent film and vaudeville performance. The majestic theatre dazzled the residents of Sioux Falls with its iconic marquee and sophisticated Beaux Arts-inspired design.

This style of building became known nationally as the β€˜movie palace.’ Since reopening in 2020, the Sioux Falls State Theatre has welcomed thousands of patrons to hundreds of different films. Every year the Sioux Falls State Theatre features a growing number of films including, many that showcase LGBTQ+ and Two Spirit stories. New showtimes debut every Thursday.
